How to use the bus route maps
General
Check the provider's schedules before running out to catch the bus! Not all buses run at all times on all routes. The route may have changed between the time this map was made and now. This is not an official map and can be wrong!
There are four maps available on this site: Northern NJ, Central NJ, Southern NJ---some routes appear on more than one map--and a Park and Ride map.
Navigating with your mouse
Double-clicking on the map zooms in on the area under the mouse pointer. Double-right-clicking on the map zooms out on the area under the mouse pointer. Dragging the map pans the view.
Navigating with the controls in the upper-left corner of the map
You can also use the controls in the upper-left corner of the map. You can navigate with the top control, and adjust zoom levels with the bottom control.
Searching for a location
You can use the search box on the upper-right portion of your screen to search for a location. Enter an address and a town (don't forget the "NJ"!) and then click on the search button. The map will move to the location (if it can find it) and zoom in.
Show/hide the bus routes
At the top of the map there are controls to show or hide the bus routes, plus intermediate options to make it more transparent.
How to use the park and ride map
General
The information shown is from the NJ Department of Transportion. Check with the operator of the facility before attempting to use it. Parking availability may be limited or completely unavailable at any time. This is not an official map and can be wrong!
Once you find a park and ride to use, check out the other three maps to see bus service near a location: Northern NJ, Central NJ, Southern NJ--some routes appear on more than one map.

Get info about a park and ride
Clicking on either a park and ride icon on the map or the facility name on the left will open up a window giving details about a facility.
Get driving directions to a park and ride
First, click on either a park and ride icon on the map or the facility name on the left. In the window that appears, choose the "Driving directions to here" link. In the page that appears, enter your start address, and click on the button to get directions. Alternate routes may be shown if available. Please note that the directions provided might not be usable at all because park and ride lots often do not have street addresses and Google might not interpret the location accurately. I manually adjust the 'location' of the most popular park and rides based on user queries so that the directions will be fairly accurate.
