County Kerry has the Ring of Kerry, a road (N70) that leads around the Iveragh peninsula.
Since this road has a lot of tour buses driving around it you can get a sense of just how
good of a driver you are. Left: What
the driver sees. Road isn't very big is it? Below Left: What the passenger sees. The
shoulder is pretty close, eh? Below Right: The tour buses take up the entire width of
the oncoming lane. Your car isn't much
smaller. Sorry, no videos of a bus passing us...Adrienne refused to take one.
The obligitory mountain picture:
Right: Video showing what it's like to drive in Ireland around
the Ring of Kerry. The speed limit is 100kph (about 60MPH) but there's no way you could
possibly keep up that speed around those turns in Big Blue. The road
isn't as bumpy as the video makes it seem...Adrienne was just scared of Doug's driving. At
the end she turns the camera away because she doesn't want to see how close the oncoming car
came to hitting us.
Don't people say that it rains a lot in Ireland? Check
out these blue skies.
